Life can be bizarre at times. And the last few weeks are living proof of it.
My LS found a lump and has taken us a mind spinning 2 weeks of doctors and hospitals and operations and is now back home. She's okay, it was caught so early it hadn't gone too far down that dark path, just one lot of tests that need to come back clear and then preventative measures take over.
While it has been a major life experience for all of us, there are many positives and things to be grateful for during this time. LS checking her breasts regularly and acting as soon as she found it. Her GP who sent her straight to a specialist, unlike some who dawdle around trying to diagnose it themselves.
Once the bank of tests was done, the specialist was able to operate the next day and this was due to private health insurance finally being worth the years of paying in.
Then there are the not so obvious things to be glad of. Ones like Jane McGrath and the foundation she set up, the women who have helped research, one amazing B-I-L who is now home playing nurse while she is grounded. I'm sure there are more hidden ones that will emerge in time.
Along with this I had to cope with dealing with a week of hell at work, short staffed, problems, issues, and this all ends up on my plate to handle as the supervisor, and still do my own job tasks without taking on whole other roles.
Once this would have had me stressed out to the max and growling about things, but today? Put into context beside LS's adventures, it's nothing.
I didn't cause the problems, I fixed them all, did my best and there is nothing wrong with me that a good cup of tea, a nice hot bubble bath and a few hours sleep won't fix to make me better.
Just can't beat a good cup of tea.
